| This search engine focuses on the Strong's Greek and Hebrew. Simply enter the Strong's number preceded by a G for Greek New Testament or H for Hebrew Old Testament. Omit the brackets {}. This will display all the occurences of a word to see how they are used. For example, if you wish to find all occurences of the word Hades (a place in the depths of the earth) in the New Testament, simply enter G86 and you will get 11 listings. Ten are translated Hell, and one as Grave. Likewise you can enter G1067 for Gehenna (Greek, but Hebrew origin, originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem where they burned their filth). This will display 12 listings, all translated as Hell. Let's also look at Tartaros (the deepest abyss of Hades) which is G5020. There is one occurence also translated as Hell. And while were at it, one more word, abussos (lowest parts of the earth used for the dead and especially of demons), which is G12. It's used 9 times in the New Testament. Translated 7 times as the Bottomless Pit and twice as the Deep |
