UNCTION
An anointing.
But ye have an UNCTION from the Holy One, and ye know all things. (1 John 2:20)
UNICORN
Wild ox.
Will the UNICORN be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the UNICORN with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee? Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him? Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn? (Job 39:9-12)
UNLADE
To discharge; unload.
And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth. Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to UNLADE her burden. (Acts 21:2-3)
UNSHOD
Barefoot.
Withhold thy foot from being UNSHOD, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go. (Jeremiah 2:25)
UNTOWARD
Perverse; bent.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this UNTOWARD generation. (Acts 2:38-40)
UPBRAID
To scold; reproach; reprimand.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and UPBRAIDETH not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5)
USURP
To seize and take hold of.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to USURP authority over the man, but to be in silence. (1 Timothy 2:12)
USURY
Interest.
And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with USURY? (Luke 19:20-23)
